About the Role

What is the Role?
As our Building and Maintenance Manager, you will:
- be the key contact for all building related works, both for private and social housing clients
- take responsibility for the surveying function and the line management of the building maintenance team and subcontract labour
- provide technical support and management of both subcontractors and in-house resources for delivery of projects
- work with the H&S and Quality Manager to deliver Health and Safety and Quality audits in line with quality management system accreditations
- liaise with the Operations Manager in regard to client handovers, and consultants in regard to final accounts and compensation events
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- a proven track record as a graduate, qualified tradesperson, surveyor or foreman, ideally with commercial experience
- good working knowledge of CDM H&S Regulations
- experience of working with NEC contracts
- good working knowledge of NHMF Schedule of Rates
- experience of managing subcontractors and directly employed colleagues

Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, to recruit a Maintenance Officer on an ongoing temporary contract basis to work from their offices in Belfast.
Your new role
Reporting to the Area Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that maintenance repairs to Housing Executive homes are carried out to exacting cost, quality and time standards in accordance with the terms of contracts.
Your main duties will include:
To carry out inspections of properties to a set timetable in order to authorise the Housing Executive's Contractors to carry out necessary maintenance work;To conduct inspections to properties, again to a set timetable, in order that works done are of an acceptable standard and that payment for such work can be authorised;To advise tenants of maintenance policies and their responsibilities for the maintenance of some items in their homes or to provide information on the progress of works their homes or the timeframes for such works to be done;To draw deficiencies in the delivery of an effective maintenance service to the attention of the Contractor in the first instance in order that remedial action can be taken;To liaise with other Housing Executive staff, particularly those involved in allocation of homes, to ensure that houses vacated on changes of tenancy have necessary works done so that they can be re-let as soon as possible.A full job description is available on request.

Flexible start and finish times can be arranged.You will also get 35 days paid annual leave including stat days. Whilst this role is offered on an ongoing temporary contract basis, it is envisaged that a permanent role will be recruited in due course.

About the Role

As a Wind Turbine Technician, you'll play a key role working with a team of Technicians who take pride in the operation and maintenance of the SSE Renewables fleet. These opportunities are open to entry level technicians looking to start a career in Renewables through to Enhanced Wind Turbine Technician looking to drive the change to Net Zero.
Utilising information from our maintenance management system, you'll perform scheduled maintenance and fault rectification on our fleet of turbines, ensuring they are operating at their optimum capacity. Along with other members of the team, you'll deliver wind turbine maintenance for SSE Renewable Operations driven by four key performance measures, SHE, Capability, Quality and Cost.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have;
- A minimum of NC or SVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical/Electrical discipline or equivalent, and to have served a recognised apprenticeship.
- Demonstrable experience of servicing, fault finding and repairing of Wind Turbine Generators or the equivalent experience within your current sector.
- A current GWO basic training certification would be highly beneficial but training can be provided.
- A strong understanding of the application and use of safe systems of work, including working in accordance with Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
To ensure the site is operating efficiently throughout the year, you may be expected to participate in a scheduled standby rota. If you do participate, it's expected you would be required one week in four. Additional payments relating to this will be available.
