The role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our expanding Audit and Assurance team. You will be self-motivated, capable of working on your own initiative and have the ability to plan, control and complete audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will have direct access to Partners and the ability to provide a valued opinion within the team. Excellent opportunities exist for ambitious and driven candidates to progress within the firm. Main responsibilities:

• identifying client needs and new business opportunities within client organisations;
• project management - take responsibility for managing a large and varied portfolio of clients;
• supervise and train junior members of the team to ensure that Grant Thornton’s standards are maintained throughout the entire audit process;
• prepare and present business tenders in order to develop and grow your client portfolio;
• working capital management – manage work in progress and billings;
• preparation of accounts and financial statements;
• design and implementation of audit plans;

Skills and attributes:

• minimum 5 years' experience required
• qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or similar qualification)
• portfolio management experience
• be commercially aware
• strong technical knowledge
• experience in audit engagements
• worked with a diverse portfolio of clients
• capable of working on your own initiative
• strong interpersonal skills are essential
• experience gained in a Big 4 accounting firm advantageous but not essential

The Department has close links to two research centres. These are the Ethical Finance Accountability and Governance (EFAG) centre which focuses on sustainability and sustainable development goals, and the International Centre of Public Accountability (ICOPA) which focuses upon public accountability. In addition, the Durham Rutgers Accounting Analytics Network (DRAAN) sits within the Department which focuses on data analytics and artificial intelligence.

Management Level:

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for daily plant accounting functions. Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks, setting priorities, evaluating results, and the ability to work independently and with a diversified group. This includes verifying and checking documents for reasonableness and requires interaction with supervisors and other plant management. This list is not all inclusive and there may be other duties as assigned. Applicant will be expected to cross-train in all areas of the office to provide vacation and sick coverage. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School diploma, GED or Equivalent. Knowledge of basic mathematics, grammar required.

Experience: 1+ years of general office experience required.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required - Microsoft Office and Excel experience preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.

Special Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in teams.

SHIFT HOURS:

8:00AM - 4:30PM

They are seeking senior IT consultants/auditors to join their core team and perform challenging assignments for their clients.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• Demonstrated knowledge of IT operations and experience executing audits that includes network platforms, ERP applications, OS/DB, etc.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant frameworks e.g., ISO27001, PCI-DSS, Cyber Assessment Framework, NIST, and NIS
• CISA, CISM or CISSP Certification (or 5+ years in the last 7 working in an Information Security role)
• Lead Auditor or Practitioner qualification in ISO27001
• MSc, BSc in Cybersecurity, or Information Systems preferred.

Additionally, it would be desirable if you have:

• Experience of working in cross-functional teams
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of current IT standards
• Broad awareness of hardware/software security products
• Other security certifications such as CEH, OSCP, OSCE, GIAC, GSEC or Security+
• You will also need to have excellent communication skills, be able to establish and maintain good relationships with clients, work independently as well as in a team, work on several projects concurrently, be resourceful, adaptable and creative.
